- Office for Victims of Crime (OVC)
OVC is a part of the United States Department of Justice. It administers the national Crime Victims Fund.
- National Domestic Violence Hotline
The National Domestic Violence Hotline creates access by providing 24-hour support through advocacy, safety planning, resources and hope to everyone affected by domestic violence. Call 1-800-799-SAFE (7233).
- National Dating Abuse Helpline
The National Dating Abuse Helpline and loveisrespect.org are designed to engage, educate and empower youth and young adults to prevent and end abusive relationships. Call 1-800-331-9474.
- National Organization for Victim Assistance (NOVA)
NOVA is a nonprofit organization that advances victim issues.
- National Indigenous Women’s Resource Center (NIWRC)
The Mission of NIWRC is to support and uphold grassroots advocacy by creating and enhancing the capacity of Native communities to end gender based violence through technical assistance, education, public awareness and policy development.
- Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD)
MADD offers direct, supportive services to victims/survivors of drunk driving crashes through MADD’s trained victim advocates. A victim advocate can assist with emotional support, guidance through the justice system, and information and referrals for other needs related to the crash experience.
- National Suicide Prevention Lifeline
The Lifeline provides 24/7, free and confidential support for people in distress, prevention and crisis resources for you or your loved ones, and best practices for professionals. Call (800) 273-8255.
- National Sexual Assault Hotline
RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network) operates the National Sexual Assault Hotline, a nationwide partnership of more than 1,100 local rape treatment hotlines that provides victims of sexual assault with free, confidential services around the clock. Call 1-800-656-HOPE (4673).

Assistance for non-citizen crime victims
If you are a non-citizen who has been the victim of a crime in the United States, you may be eligible for a special type of immigration assistance known as a U visa. U visas are available for victims of certain crimes who have suffered mental or physical abuse and are helpful to law enforcement officials in the investigation or prosecution of criminal activity. Congress created the U visa program in October 2000 with the passage of the Victims of Trafficking and Violence Protection Act (including the Battered Immigrant Women’s Protection Act).
